School History

Butterfield Elementary is one of two elementary schools in Sanger ISD and is located just off Farm Road 455 and Indian Lane.  We are about 20 minutes north of Denton. Our school opened in 2008 with around 500 students and we currently serve 555 students Pre-K through 5th grade.

 

Mrs. Debbie Romines was the first principal of Butterfield Elementary in 2008. During that year the school earned State recognition as an exemplary campus. In 2009 Mr. Larry Beam took over and is currently the principal. Under his guidance, Butterfield has earned several state distinctions in Academic Achievements in Reading and ELAR, Top 25%, closing the gaps, and post-secondary readiness.

 

During the Fall of 2017 Butterfield Elementary was nominated as a Capturing Kids’ Heart Showcase School.
