My role as the Campus Student Interventionist at Butterfield Elementary is to support teachers and students. I provide support to teachers when students struggle in the classroom. I investigate reasons why the student may be struggling and brainstorm ideas with staff and family members to find ways to meet the student's needs in the classroom.
Every child is different, but almost every child will have academic struggles at some point during his/her educational career. In the majority of cases, learning difficulties can be resolved when targeted interventions are implemented quickly and consistently. However in some cases, a student may need more long term supports such as Section 504 or Special Education services. The key is to determine the most appropriate support to allow the student to learn successfully.
